Children have access to the whole of the ground
floor of the house, which comprises of hall, lounge and dining
room, and kitchen for cooking activities. The bathroom and toilet
are located on the first floor, which means that unfortunately
I am unable to accommodate children who need wheelchair access.
An upstairs bedroom is also available for rest times.
The garden has been recently landscaped with children's
safety and play in mind, providing a patio area for sand play
and toy vehicles, and a large lawn for ball games, water play
and other activities. The garden is located at the rear of the
house, and is securely enclosed by fences.
I have a selection of indoor and outdoor toys and
games, and art materials for different age groups. I am a member
of Stockport library, and Stockport toy library, and use these
to provide a constantly changing set of toys and books which are
age appropriate for the children that I am minding. Click here
to see some of the activities which
I undertake with the children each week.
The house
is within easy walking distance of a small playground which we
use, weather permitting! There is also a childminder drop-in group
in the area which we visit, allowing the children another opportunity
to meet and interact with other children of their own age.
I am a member of the National
Trust which gives the children and me free access to the grounds
of many nearby properties.
